Steve Aoki
Steve Aoki was created in Miami, Florida
on the 30th November 1977. American electro house music producer D.J., and
record producer Steve Aoki is his name. and music executive. He is the son of
Rocky Aoki and Chizuru Kbayashi. His father, who was a former wrestler,
co-founded the restaurant chain Benihana. He has two older siblings and a
sister Kana who is usually known as Grace as her middle name Grace, and brother
Kevin (owner of Doraku Sushi). The half-sister of his is Devon Aoki, a model
and actress. He was born in Newport Beach, California & graduated from
Newport Harbor High School in 1995. There he played on the varsity badminton
team. He went to UC Santa Barbara and graduated with a 2nd B.A. He also earned
two bachelor's degrees, one in feminist studies and the other in Sociology. In
his college days, he recorded DIY recordings and held underground concerts out
of his Biko room at the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative. For its use
as a venue for concerts, the room became known as The Pickle Patch. He was also
active in student activist activities at UCSB. He established an organization
called the Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League Chapter on campus. At the age
of 20, he had built his own record label, which he called Dim Mak, a reference
to the idol of his youth Bruce Lee. In March 2010 the artist came out with I'm
in the House, a collaboration w/ the Zuper Blahq-alter-ego of The Black Eyed
Peas singer will.i.am. It hit the No. The track was ranked the position of No.
29 on the U.K. Singles Chart within its first week of the release. The track
climbed to the top five on both the U.K. Indie Chart and the U.K. Dance Chart.
It was included in MTV's Jersey Shore, as well as in the feature film Piranha
and the trailer for Think Like A Man. Producer-songwriter Lucas Secon confirmed
in a interview with HitQuarters that he & Rivers Cuomo had recently
worked w/ Aoki on a single. The song was named the highest-grossing dancer from
North America by Pollstar in 2012. He has collaborated with artists such as
Iggy Azalea, Afrojack, LMFAO, Linkin Park, Will.i.am, Lil Jon, Blink-182,
Laidback Luke, BTS, Louis Tomlinson, Rise Against, Vini Vici & Fall Out
Boy. He is known for remixing artists like Kid Cudi.
