Marcia Harvey

Marcia Harvey, an African-American author, is most well-known for her ex-wife, comedian and TV host Steve Harvey. She chose to keep her private life private and out of the public eye. Steve had never achieved the same success as it is today, however they were married for 14 years ago. Rumours have circulated in Hollywood about the motives behind their breakup. Some claim that Steve Harvey is cheating while others accuse him of choosing comedy as his profession. The tragedy of her story can be traced to fact that Steve quit her and his two daughters, while she was expecting their third child. Despite all the struggles she has managed to make an impressive career out of fashion design and also in writing. Marcia Harvey was raised in an African-American household and is not well-off. Her first job was in a department shop called "Saks Fifth Avenue". Steve met her by a close friend's wedding reception. They were very close and married in the year 1980. Steve was employed as an insurance salesman the time , and the couple was blessed with twin girls in 1982. Steve began to be dissatisfied at his job and determined to pursue a career in entertainment. He hoped to be a stand-up comedian. Marcia and Steve were in a lot of tension and later, reports suggested that they were beginning to break up. Much of Marcia Harvey's fame came from her marriage and divorce to Steve Harvey. Although the specifics of their divorce in 1994 have been kept secret, it is evident that Marcia was pregnant with their third child at the time that the whole thing fell apart. Marcia was divorced in 1993. Following the divorce, and Steve Harvey's refusal to pay alimony or child support, Marcia was forced to approach the law.
