Brooke Christa Shields Bio

Brooke Christa Shields was born May 31, 1965. She started out as a young model and gained critical acclaim at the age of 12 for her lead role in Louis Malle's film Pretty Baby (1978). She modelled into her teen years, and was widely praised for her role in Louis Malle's 1978 film Pretty Baby. Shields made minor film roles and then returned to acting in the 1990s. She was also a mainstay in the NBC sitcoms Suddenly Susan (1996-192000), for which she received two Golden Globe nominations and Lipstick Jungle (2008)-2009. Shields returned to NBC in 2017 and had a recurring role as a Law & Order: Special Victims character from the show's 19th Season. Shields is the voice of Beverly Goodman on Adult Swim's animated series Mr. Pickles, and its spinoff Momma Named Me Sheriff. Brooke Christa Shields was born in Manhattan, New York on May 31, 1965. She was the daughter of actress and model Teri Shields (nee Schmon; 1933-2012) and businessman Frank Shields (1941-2003). Based on William Addams Reitwiesner research, Shields was a descendent of numerous noble families of Italy. These are namely (in chronological order of descent from 1355 to 1965) the Gattilusi-Palaiologos-Savoy, Grimaldi, Imperiali, Carafa, Doria, Doria-Pamphili-Landi, Chigi-Albani, and Torlonia dynasties. Her paternal grandmother was Italian noblewoman Marina Torlonia di Civitella-Cesi she was the daughter of an Italian prince and an American socialite. Her uncle was Alessandro Torlonia from Italy, who was married to Infanta Beatriz of Spain. Teri's family paid Frank an amount to terminate her pregnancy.
