Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born on the 18th of November, 1985, in Los Angeles. Felix's father Paul Felix is an ordained minister from the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. Her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix was a natural at athletics from the beginning, as she discovered her speedy abilities while she attended the Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within 10 weeks of her initial tryout, she placed with a second-place finish in the 200 meter event of the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix was signed to professional work with Adidas in 2003, and then enrolled at University of Southern California to take classes in elementary school. A year later Felix achieved her debut Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece setting an all-time junior world record doing 200 meters within 22.18 seconds. In 2005, at the Helsinki World Championships, Felix was the youngest world champion in the 200-meter event. She won the title the following year, by beating her Jamaican adversary Veronica Campbell. Felix was a regular competitor at Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. She was consistently at the top of the podium in all events.
