Britney Jean Spears

Britney Jean Spears was born in McComb, Mississippi, and raised in Kentwood. As a child, Britney attended dance classes and excelled at gymnastics. She was a winner of many contests and similar. But, most of all, Britney loved to sing. When she was just eight, Britney tried out for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) however she was denied due to her age. Her next audition was for "Ruthless" which was an off-Broadway production, where she starred as the title character for two years. At age 11 She tried her hand at The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) and was this time able to make it as a mouseketeer along with several stars of the day (Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez of *NSYNC , and Ryan Gosling). Her breakthrough however, was after she was signed as an artist with Jive Records in the late 1990s. Britney was an enormous success following her first album, "Baby one more time." "...Baby another time" in 1999. She sold over 13 million copies (as of July 2001) of her second album "Oops !...I did it Again" which came out in May 2000. Britney was the daughter of Lynne Spears and Jamie Spears. She has one of her brothers Bryan Spears and a little sister Jamie Lynn Spears. At a very young age, Britney was always fixing to be a superstar with her idols like Madonna, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, the young Britney was constantly singing, no matter what was happening around her. Britney auditioned for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989-1994) on TV at age 8. However, she was not old enough for the part. Instead, Britney, her mother and baby sister moved to New York where she starred in numerous TV advertisements and an off-Broadway musical, "Ruthless", where she was an understudy for Natalie Portman. She discovered her love for dance and music 2 years later when she was auditioning again for "Mickey Mouse", winning the part along with Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera.
